Perry Flemming Jr. lives by the biblical verse: “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” He has not lived in South Carolina since graduating from Lower Richland High School in 2000 but remains extremely active in his hometown community of Eastover. To date, his SC based mentoring program has sponsored $50,000 in scholarships for 27 first generation college students and advocated for an additional $250,000 more in outside funding sources. He also sponsors basketball tournaments, elementary school field trips, and financial literacy classes for Lower Richland residents.
Perry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Morehouse College with a Concentration in Finance and Minor in Economics. He holds a Master’s of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University and he is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California’s Price School of Public Policy. Perry’s research focuses on the history of Housing Policy as it relates to minority, low income families. He has been employed at Fannie Mae for 13 years and currently serves as Director of Collateral Management responsible for managing an $81 billion mortgage portfolio.
